Computerized Spinal Posture and Functional Analysis:
Posture Pro Digital Posture Analysis
With the Posture Pro Digital Posture Analysis we are able to show you what your posture looks like and how it affects your spine. Posture is a window into the body's structure and function. Posture has been linked to most body functions including breathing, circulation, nerve function, even thinking and emotions. We usually find that it is not you posture but your structure that is out of balance.
The Posture Pro Analysis allows us to evaluate your posture and then create a computer generated picture of how your spine may look, based on postural landmarks entered by the examiner.
Surface ElectroMyography (SEMG)
The SEMG allows us to show you how your body function is being affected by vertebral subluxation. The SEMG measures electrical charges produced by muscle activity and examine the function of the motor portion of the nerve system. When functioning normally, muscle activity is balanced and even side-to-side along the spine as the body strives to maintain equilibrium and posture. Imbalances in muscle activity, or changes in intensity of electrical charges given off by active muscles, indicate a loss of equilibrium and the possible presence of interference to the motor portion of the nerve system caused by vertebral subluxation.
Thermal Scan
Thermal scan measures skin temperature and allows us to examine the function of the autonomic portion of the nerve system. Autonomic nerves control organ, tissue , and system functions. Think of them as “automatic” nerves. The skin is the body’s largest organ and under the control of the autonomic nerve system. Variation in skin temperature side-to-side along the spine is an indicator of nerve system malfunction and the presence of vertebral subluxation in the spine.
Together, these tests will help us to determine a.) probability of the presence and severity of vertebral subluxation in your spine and b.) necessity of further chiropractic evaluation and x-rays. We also use these tests during interim evaluations to determine progress as your chiropractic care improves your spinal condition.
Chiropractic Spinal Examination
The doctor will conduct a complete chiropractic spinal examination to determine if vertebral subluxation is present and how the body is responding to it. If the examination findings indicate that a chiropractic problem is present, the doctor will recommend and perform the necessary x-rays to confirm the analysis.
Doctor’s Report of Findings
Once all of the necessary information has been collected and analyzed, the doctor will present your examination findings in a form that you will be able to understand with the appropriate background information you will need to make an informed decision about your health care and how you will include chiropractic care in your health regimen. The doctor will make recommendations for the frequency and duration of your care and discuss payment options. At the conclusion of your Report of Findings, you will have the opportunity to begin your chiropractic care and receive your first chiropractic adjustment.
Chiropractic Adjustments
We utilize several forms of chiropractic adjusting techniques to insure that we are able to deliver the type of care you need. Our techniques are designed to be very specific in order to allow your body to correct itself in the quickest possible time. Our techniques are gentle, low force, high velocity techniques, which means they are light and fast allowing your body to use the forces applied in the adjustment to make positive changes in the position and motion of your spinal joints, optimizing correction. The main chiropractic techniques that we use are:
- Palmer Toggle Recoil
- Pierce / Pierce Instrument
- Gonstead
- Chiropractic Biophysics
- Diversified
We use the techniques which we determine to be most appropriate to each patient and their particular need for spinal correction, often combining multiple chiropractic techniques to achieve maximum results. We treat every person as an individual, making sure they get the specific adjustment they need at each visit.
